Who we are
GSI FX is a South African forex trading education and community platform operated by Muhammed Shahed Mia. GSI FX is not a broker, bank or licensed financial services provider. We do not accept deposits, hold client funds, execute trades or provide personal financial advice. Contact: support@gsifx.co.za.
What we collect
- Account details — name, email address, password (stored hashed) and, if you choose to link one, your broker account number for competition and leaderboard verification.
- Content you create — trade journal entries, community chat messages and any media you upload.
- Trading statistics — lots traded and performance figures supplied by your broker's partner API, used only for community rankings and competitions.
- App device data — a push notification token (if you enable notifications) and app version. Face ID / Touch ID is handled entirely by your device; we never receive biometric data.
- Technical data — IP address and standard server logs for security.
How we use it
- To run your membership, dashboard, journal, chat and competitions.
- To send signal, competition and announcement notifications you have opted into.
- To keep the platform secure and prevent abuse.
We do not sell your personal information and we do not use it for third-party advertising or cross-app tracking.
Sharing
Data is shared only with service providers needed to run the platform (web hosting, Expo push notification delivery, email delivery) and, where you have enrolled in a broker partnership or copy-trading programme, with that broker for verification. Each broker's own privacy policy applies to any trading account you hold with them.
Your choices and rights
- Turn notifications and app lock on or off at any time in the app's Settings.
- Delete your account and all associated data yourself at gsifx.co.za/delete-account.php or from Settings → Delete my account in the app. Deletion is permanent and completed immediately.
- Request a copy or correction of your data by emailing support@gsifx.co.za. We respond within 7 days.
Under the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA) you may also lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator of South Africa.
Retention
We keep your data while your account is active. When you delete your account it is removed immediately; only an anonymised deletion record (a hash of your email) is retained to prevent abuse.
Children
GSI FX is for adults aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.

We will post any changes on this page and update the date above.
