Learn the fundamentals of the world's largest financial market and take your first steps towards becoming a forex trader.
Forex (Foreign Exchange) is the global marketplace for trading national currencies. It's the largest and most liquid financial market in the world, with a daily trading volume exceeding $6 trillion.
Unlike stock markets, forex operates 24 hours a day, 5 days a week, allowing traders from around the world to participate at any time.
The forex market is decentralized - there's no central exchange. Trading happens electronically over-the-counter (OTC) through a global network of banks, brokers, and financial institutions.
In forex, currencies are traded in pairs. When you buy one currency, you simultaneously sell another. The first currency is the "base" and the second is the "quote" currency.
EUR/USD means you're trading Euro against US Dollar
Bid = selling price, Ask = buying price. The difference is the spread.
Control larger positions with smaller capital. Higher risk & reward.
The smallest price movement in forex. Usually the 4th decimal place.
The most traded currency pairs in the forex market are called "majors." They all include the US Dollar and have the highest liquidity.
